Cushins Disease
Ambers Poster

Ambers Appeal was started to raise funds for the treatment of Cushing’s Disease.

Here is Ambers story.

She was tied up & thrown in the Mersey, fortunately some young boys that
were fishing saw her & found an adult to help get her out.
She was then handed to the Wirral Dog Pound.
There she spent her 7 days waiting to be claimed or re-homed,
but nobody came & that is where the Yorkshire Terrier and Toy Breed Rescue came in.
I was called to collect her & this had to be done
on Good Friday
so we travelled from Lincolnshire to Liverpool that day.
She was in a terrible state, nails overgrown
and what hair she had was just a matted mass & smelt horrendous. She was a very scared and confused little girl,
but allowed me to cut away the hair that
I could not save, do her nails and bath her.
She was very weak & weighed just under 2kg.
It took several weeks for her to allow anyone apart
from me to approach her
and she then started to sit with us & learn to walk on a lead.
We have now been told that this little girl
has Cushing’s Disease.
We are a small rescue & do not have insurance that covers vet bills.
She will never be re-homed now. As funds are very limited & we think that
she deserves a second chance we have decided that she will get the treatment
that is very expensive so this is why we have started the AMBER APPEAL.
If we are successful we would also like to help others
out there that are suffering from this disease.
She has become a very sweet little girl with
attitude and is a little fighter.

We will be adding more pictures and videos of her playing soon!
